I've installed a Sony BC-5640H slim Blu-Ray drive in a Mac Mini (Late 2009). Having a Blu-Ray drive in the Mac it's possible to rip Blu-Rays. The drive is a standard slot-loading notebook/laptop drive, with the fascia removed prior to installation. I use MakeMKV to rip the Blu-Ray movies, and Plex to play them back.
