In 1968 Liza Minnelli appeared on Brian Henderson's Bandstand in Australia, singing what has become a signature song for her, "Maybe This Time". Liza had first recorded the John Kander and Fred Ebb song on her 1964 debut album, making it a popular part of her stage shows throughout the 60's and it was later included in the 1972 Academy Award movie "Cabaret" for which Liza also took home the Oscar as Best Actress. It could not be nominated for best song however as it had not originally been included with Kander & Ebb's other songs from the broadway musical
