Firefighters in northwest China have rescued more than 100 people trapped on highways in gale force winds that whipped up a sandstorm. The force 12 gale reduced visibility to less than two metres. Rescuers tied ropes between the cars then helped the trapped drivers and passengers to safety. Catharina Moh reports.
